Dalian is located at the core of the Northeast Asia economic circle, an important city in the Bohai Rim Economic Circle, a bridgehead for the revitalization of Northeast China, a new highland for opening up and cooperation in Northeast Asia, and the most dynamic and largest city in terms of economic volume in Northeast China. In recent years, Dalian has been committed to the important instructions given by the General Secretary Xi Jinping to Dalian to build a "pioneer zone with an optimized industrial structure and a leading zone for economic and social development" (referred to as "Two Leading Zones") and "an international shipping center, an international logistics center and a regional financial center in Northeast Asia" (referred to as "Three Centers"). Focusing on the "Six Constructions", Dalian has been striving to be the "high jump team" for the revitalization of Northeast China in the new era, and the high-quality development of the "Two Leading Zones" and the "Three Centers" has continuously achieved new breakthroughs.

          Dalian is committed to building itself into a famous international exhibition and convention city in Northeast Asia. Every year over 130 international exhibitions and conventions are held in Dalian, with a total exhibition and convention area exceeding 1.3 million square meters. Dalian has consecutively won national awards such as China's most Influential Exhibition and Convention City, China's Best Exhibition and Convention Destination City, etc.

         As the leading exhibition in Dalian's exhibition industry, Dalian International Automotive Exhibition has been successfully held for 30 sessions. It has developed into an important platform for displaying automotive culture and boosting automotive sales. In April 2025, the exhibition was certified by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), marking its scale, quality, and service level as internationally recognized.
